Kashmire is the custom hood I started in 2007. As the years have gone by, I have added several custom and remodeled sub-areas and now refer to Kashmire as the entire 'region' that encompasses the main hood and the subhoods
Isla Del Kashmire is the main hood. It's a sleepy little island community with a central main street that hosts community lots, businesses and residential homes. It hosts a local community college, the private academy, a few farms and the large estates of some of the more affluent and established families in the region. There is also a camp tucked back near the foot hills that Kashmire's youth attend for a week in the summer where they can learn new skills and make friends. Some of the businesses along main street include a bakery, and a dance studio.
Scandalica City (established 2007) is the oldest, most dense, and most populated downtown of Kashmire. It is the seat of political activity and a hub of nightlife. Sims wanting a more urban living style will take up residence in one of many varieties of apartments or townhomes. The SCIA is headquartered here, along with the region's largest hospital, an old warehousing district, the city hall, and a public library. In the past, it was referred to as 'Scandal City' on account of heavy syndicate activity but through the efforts of Captain Hero, crime was nearly eradicated during his tenure.
Pandora (established 2008) is a tourist downtown that until very recently no one wanted to visit. It's the kind of dusty desert town that sims looking not to be found by the law hid in during the old days. It was an old cantina and brothel. Now it's bloomed into a fun weekend getaway - with canyon camping, a hotel/casino, a three-star restaurant, a luxurious spa, an exclusive oasis, mini-golf, outdoor arcade and more. Elders have flocked to the warmer climate to retire at the Horchata Village. You can never take the wildness out of Pandora though, the brothel still stands along a thoroughfare of nightclubs and food trucks. The local residents are just as wild. Pandora has a community college as well focusing on STEM degrees.
Memosa Bay (established 2009) is the northernmost downtown and has a cosmopolitan vibe--focusing on the environment and the arts, fine dining, and entertainment. It has the largest urban greenspace in Kashmire with a swimmable lake in the heart of the city, several restaurants and coffee shops. It has an art gallery and museum, an indoor concert arena, artist outdoor promenade, a botanical garden, community produce garden, and several nice apartment options, including an eco-friendly apartment close to the dog park. Sims of wealth and influence tend to buy homes in the high hills overlooking the city with fabulous mountain and bay views.
Kashmire Point (established 2015) is the only current shopping subhood of Kashmire. Like Pandora, it's more of a local tourist destination because of its warmer temperatures and beaches. There's a lot to do in this little town. The boardwalks have almost anything to eat or buy. The dry side of the main stretch has some fun-themed dining and shops, including a surfboard shop because everyone has to take advantage of the waves! There's also a roller coaster, casino, putt-putt course, full golf course and country club, community herb garden, a sushi restaurant off a pier. Kashmire Point has plenty of artisan agricultural production, including coffee, tea, wine, and mead. The elders also like to move here after retirement for the nice weather and sounds of the sea.
Thanks for reading about Kashmire!
Long lived hoods my beloved! 😍 It's beautiful! Curious how many households/Sims you have here at this point, and how many generations you're through? At least counting from the descendants of your original Sims? I know for me personally I count the generations from the founders of my hood, but I also have added in new Sims over the years at random times too, who also have their own descendants now.
Ah, this looks great!
Thank you @LordCrumps! I used my special pics of the hoods, the ones that have your 4t2 trees in them that I can only use for pics ;P
I love Kashmire so much! Great photos!
